Tarn Taran, 24 December 2024: A 30-year-old man, recently released on bail, was fatally shot in broad daylight in Tarn Taran on Monday.
The victim, identified as Lovepreet Singh, also known as Sheru, was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest on the roadside between the villages of Pakhoke and Deu Bath.
The body was taken into custody by the Sadar police station, and legal processes are underway. DSP Atul Soni and Avtar Singh, head of Sadar Tarn Taran Police Station, arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the motive for the killing, with attention focused on the victim’s involvement in several past robbery cases.
DSP Atul Soni confirmed that a case has been filed against unknown assailants following a statement from the victim’s father, Partap Singh.
The body is scheduled for postmortem at the Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran on Tuesday morning.
