Voters can download photo-enabled digital voter card from home

20 May 2023, Chandigarh– To facilitate voters in the 2024 Lok Sabha General Elections, the Election Commission of India has introduced several digital initiatives. The most important of these is the e-EPIC, a photo-enabled digital voter ID card that can be obtained online. Voters can now download their voter card from home.

Facility available on Election Commission website

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that if a voter’s ID is lost or if they want to keep a digital copy, they can easily download their voter card on their mobile or computer through the Voter Helpline app or the Election Commission’s website, eci.gov.in. This digital voter card is fully valid for voting. The e-EPIC can also be uploaded to DigiLocker and can be printed.

The e-EPIC is a non-editable PDF version of the original voter ID card. This PDF version can be used as both an identity and address proof. It can be stored on a mobile phone or in DigiLocker for easy access.

How to download your digital card

To download the digital card, registered voters need to visit the National Voter Portal at voters.eci.gov.in. New users must register themselves. After registering, click on the e-EPIC download option. Then enter your EPIC (voter card number) or form reference number. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. After entering the OTP, the option to download the e-EPIC will appear.
