Pathankot, April 19: Two Delhi residents died and four others sustained serious injuries after an Innova car lost control and crashed near Madhopur in Pathankot, Punjab, while en route to Srinagar.
The victims were traveling in an Innova (DL 10 CX 8104) when the vehicle reportedly lost balance, possibly due to the driver falling asleep. The car overturned, leading to a fatal accident.
The deceased have been identified as Sushil Kumar and Naresh Kumar, both from Delhi. Their bodies have been sent to the Civil Hospital in Pathankot for postmortem.
Locals pulled the victims from the wreckage. The four injured youths were taken to private hospitals in Pathankot and are currently undergoing treatment.
Sujanpur police reached the spot soon after the crash and have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
