Moga, Dec. 19: A woman from Himmatpura village in Moga district was attacked by her uncle-in-law and his accomplice, who fired at her and misbehaved outside her home in Punjab Today.
The woman, identified as Mandeep Kaur, has lodged a complaint against the two men, accusing them of harassment under Section 112 of the Indian Penal Code.
Both individuals have been arrested following the incident.
According to Mandeep Kaur, her husband passed away nine months ago, and since then, her father-in-law, Balbir Singh, has been harassing her. She reported that Balbir Singh and his accomplice, Karamjit Singh, verbally abused her outside her house, and when she sought help from the village sarpanch, they escalated the situation by opening fire.
The Sadar Police Station Chief, Harvinder Singh, confirmed the case and stated that the police responded quickly to the report, arresting the two men involved. Authorities are continuing with the investigation.
