Trump Intensifies Crackdown on Targets Fake Marriages

by TheReportingTimes

Washington, March 23 — US President Donald Trump is stepping up measures against illegal immigration, including targeting immigrants who fraudulently marry US citizens to obtain green cards.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has declared marriage fraud a federal crime, warning that violators could face up to five years in prison under Section 1325(c) of the Marriage Fraud Act.

Meanwhile, the US administration has issued a fresh warning for immigrants living in the country, heightening anxiety among millions. In a social media post, the government stated, “U.S. visa screening does not stop once a visa is issued. We continuously review visa holders to ensure they comply with all U.S. laws and immigration regulations.”

The government warned that visa holders found violating any US laws or immigration rules would face visa cancellations and deportations. The new directives have placed even those with valid work and residency visas under heightened scrutiny.
