Kathua, March 25 — Police have detained three suspects with a criminal record during the ongoing search operation in Kathua’s Hiranagar, a senior officer said on Monday. The trio is believed to have provided logistical support to terrorists.

The joint operation, led by the Army’s Rising Star Corps and J&K Police, recovered two grenades from a forest near Sanyal village on Monday evening. Earlier in the day, forces seized three loaded magazines of an M4 carbine, four IEDs, sleeping bags, tracksuits, shoes, and eatables.

The Rising Star Corps posted on X: “Joint operation by @jmukmrpolice & #RisingStarCorps in Saniyal, #Hiranagar on 23 March, led to the recovery of warlike stores. Operations in progress.”

No fresh exchange of fire has been reported between militants and forces since Sunday.
