Vinesh Phogat, an ace wrestler from India, reached to the final of the women’s 50kg freestyle wrestling competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, but was not awarded a medal. The entire country of India was devastated to learn that Vinesh had been disqualified from the vent due to a failed weigh-in by a mere 100 grams. Vinesh did raise hopes of receiving a silver medal after challenging the decision at the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS), but that decision also failed to support her. Even though Vinesh’s career took a quite dramatic and nasty turn after the Paris Games, she is still regarded as a winner in her native country.

Brand value of Vinesh Phogat and other Indian athletes roars up after Paris Olympics 2024

Despite not receiving a medal, her performance has increased demand for her services as a brand ambassador.  Vinesh’s compensation for an endorsement deal has reportedly climbed significantly compared to what she would have charged for commercials prior to the Paris Games, according to an Economic Times story.

Before the 2024 Olympics, Vinesh reportedly demanded a cost of about INR 25 lakh for each endorsement contract. These days, she demands a fee of about INR 75 lakh to 1 crore from a single business.

Neeraj was the lone athlete to return home with a silver medal from the Paris Games, while Manu Bhaker won two bronzes. Despite not being able to recreate his gold medal performance in the Paris Games, Chopra’s brand worth has increased by 30–40%, reaching USD 40 million or INR 330 crore.

Manu has secured a remarkable INR 1.5 crore agreement with Thumbs Up, demonstrating the growth in her brand worth. Manu would charge about INR 25 lakh per agreement for a single sponsorship before to the Paris Games. The figure has jumped six times thanks to her Olympic performance.
