Saif Ali Khan paid 50,000 reward to the auto driver who saved his life

Mumbai, 23 January 2025- After Saif Ali Khan was brutally stabbed at his home on January 16, singer Mika Singh declared that he would give autorickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rs 1 lakh for taking the actor to the hospital in a timely and safe manner. According to reports, Saif has already given the driver Rs 50,000 as a reward. Mika, on the other hand, urged Saif to raise the reward to Rs 11 lakh by reposting a report about it on social media.

Mika wrote on his Instagram story, “I strongly believe he deserves a reward of at least Rs 11 lakhs for saving India’s favorite superstar. His heroic act is truly commendable. If possible, could you please share his contact information with me? I’d like to reward him with Rs 1 lakh as a token of appreciation.”

In another Instagram story, Mika referenced Saif’s Rs 50,000 reward and urged him to increase it. He wrote, “Saif bhai isko Rs 11 lakh do. He is the real hero. Mumbai auto vala zindabad.” The driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, however, refused to comment on whether he was paid Rs 50,000 by the actor, saying he has promised Saif that it will stay between them.

A video of Bhajan Singh recounting his conversation with Saif following the actor’s release from the hospital had previously gone viral. The driver disclosed that on the day of his release, Saif personally called him and asked to meet.

Saif’s family members, including his mother Sharmila Tagore and his kids, welcomed Bhajan during the meeting. “They said, ‘Thank you,'” Bhajan shared, expressing the family’s appreciation. Along with taking pictures with him, Saif said, “Let me know if ever you need anything,” and vowed to keep in touch.

Bhajan Singh previously talked about the night he drove Saif to the hospital in an interview. “They were in such a dire situation that I couldn’t even consider asking for money. For me, it was enough to have such a famous person sit in my vehicle,” the auto-driver said. Five days after his admission,  Saif Ali Khan was released from the hospital on 22 January. In addition to six injuries, including two deep stab wounds, one of which affected his spine, he experienced two surgeries.
