Six KZF Associates Get Life Term for Smuggling Arms via Drones

Mohali, March 11 – A special NIA court in Mohali has sentenced six terrorists linked to the banned Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) to life imprisonment for smuggling explosives and arms into Punjab via drones in 2019 as part of a planned terror attack.

The convicts—Akashdeep Singh, Balwant Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Balbir Singh, Maan Singh, and Gurudev Singh—were found guilty under various sections of the IPC, UAPA, Arms Act, and Explosive Substances Act.

Three others—Shubhdeep Singh, Sajanpreet Singh, and Romandeep Singh—received 10 years of rigorous imprisonment, an NIA spokesperson said Tuesday.

The court also imposed fines on all convicts.

The case is linked to Germany-based Gurmeet Singh alias Bagga and Pakistan-based Ranjeet Singh alias Neeta, both designated individual terrorists, officials said.

The NIA, which took over the probe from Amritsar police in October 2019, found that the accused facilitated the collection, transport, and smuggling of arms, explosives, and fake Indian currency into India.

“The explosives, arms, etc., were drone-dropped at specific locations in Tarn Taran district between August and September 2019,” the spokesperson said.
