Mumbai, 31 December 2024 – Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has shared his enthusiasm for the forthcoming WAVES (World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit) 2025, an event spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish India as a global leader in the creative industries. The summit is set to take place from February 5 to February 9, 2025, marking India’s first time hosting such a prestigious event.
The announcement, made by Modi during his monthly Mann Ki Baat radio address on Sunday, was quickly shared by Khan on social media the following evening. In his post, the actor praised the summit, describing it as “an occasion that nurtures and celebrates creativity.”
Khan further expressed his anticipation, saying, “I look forward to WAVES, a film and entertainment summit to be held here in India. This is a remarkable platform that honors our industry and its contribution to India’s economy while emphasizing its strength as a cultural influence worldwide.”
Several other prominent figures from the entertainment industry, including Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ektaa Kapoor, and Ritesh Sidhwani, have also shown strong support for the WAVES initiative.
