Amritsar, March 21 2025 — Amritsar police arrested Vishal alias Chui, the second accused in the Thakur Dwara Temple blast case, who had escaped during a police encounter on March 17.

Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Vishal, a resident of Rajasansi town in Amritsar district, was apprehended by Chheharta police teams based on intelligence inputs. “With this arrest, more recoveries are expected, and the entire network behind the attack will be unearthed,” Bhullar said.

The other accused, Gursidak Singh alias Sadak, was killed in the exchange of fire with police.

On March 15, two masked men on a motorcycle lobbed a grenade at the Thakur Dwara Temple on Sher Shah Suri Road in Khandwala around 12:45 am. While no one was injured, the blast damaged the temple’s walls and shattered windowpanes, triggering panic in the area.

A case has been registered under Sections 109, 121(1), 132, 221, 324(4), 3(5) of the BNS and 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act.
