Cricket players frequently receive a variety of demands from their fans due to their celebrity status. Cricket players have been asked to sign things, take selfies, and sign autographs, to name a few requests. But occasionally, these demands have a tendency to get crazier. Recently, a fan requested that Indian cricket team wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant pay for his engineering study. Remarkably, Pant also chose to reply to the fan—even though he declined to grant his request for money. Social media users shared Pant’s response, which went viral.
Rishabh Pant’s response to his fan request went viral across social media platforms
Hello @RishabhPant17 Sir I’m a student struggling to fund my engineering education. Your support can change my life. Please consider helping or sharing my campaign: https://t.co/w09mqaYq5D
Your kindness would mean everything to me. #CrowdfundingCampaign #Cricket
Even though famous cricket players typically don’t respond to fan tweets, Pant made the effort to address this sincere request.
“Never give up on your dreams. God usually has better plans, so tc (be careful),” Pant answered.
Even though the fan’s request for money was denied, he hoped Pant’s answer would draw attention to his situation. Pant is followed by 4.4 million people on X.
“It means the world to have your support. I’ve tried my best, but the campaign hasn’t raised the necessary money. Helping to get the word forward would be greatly appreciated. “I’m still pursuing my dreams,” he answered.
Pant has made a remarkable recovery from an injury that nearly ended his cricket career in late 2022. Before leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup in 2024, he amassed more than 400 runs for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024.
The 2024–25 Duleep Trophy matches, will start on September 5th, which will see Pant play alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Washington Sundar for the India B squad.
