Punjab Declares 97.30% Pass Rate in Class 8 Board Exam

Chandigarh, April 5: Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced a 97.30% pass rate in the Class 8 board exam, with 2,82,627 out of 2,90,471 students clearing the exam and promoted to Class 9.

School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the students for their success and praised their hard work. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, teachers, and parents,” he said.

He especially lauded Puneet Verma and Navjot Kaur for securing 100 percent marks. Puneet, a student of Chief Khalsa Diwan’s Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School in Hoshiarpur, ranked first, while Navjot of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School in Faridkot stood second.

“These results reflect our government’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education,” Bains said, adding that Punjab is striving to raise school education standards to a world-class level.
