30 July, Punjab: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, the minister of NRI affairs, has requested the Haryana government to look into the attack that occurred on an NRI family living in Punjab on the evening of July 25 and 26.
Punjab’s NRI Affairs Minister Dhaliwal informed, agricultural leader, Master Boota Singh of Jalalabad’s Chimnewla village had traveled to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi to pick up his wife Sukhwinder Kaur, who had returned from Australia.
According to Dhaliwal, the couple was attacked by miscreants on Rohtak-Sirsa Road, but they managed to escape from there by hiding in a gas station washroom.

In order to find the offenders and guarantee the safety of the NRIs who travel on this route, the minister claimed to have written to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini.
He called on the Haryana DGP to step up patrols, particularly at night.
