Abohar, December 30, 2024: The Punjab bandh organized by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha has seen broad support from shopkeepers, who have joined farmers in protest. Spearheaded by Jagjit Singh Dallewal, the farmers remain steadfast in their sit-in, pledging to continue until their demands are fulfilled.
The bandh has disrupted transportation across the state, with train and bus services suspended. Stranded passengers voiced their struggles, while rickshaw drivers, dependent on daily commuters, expressed dismay over losing their income.
Passengers acknowledged the farmers’ cause but highlighted the hardships caused by the state-wide blockade, which has impacted daily life and mobility.
