Proceedings of Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum in PKL

To achieve the goal of ‘complete consumer satisfaction’, many ambitious programs have been started by the Electricity Corporation so that the problems of the consumers can be solved quickly.

Proceedings of Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum of Panchkula Zone will be held on 20th and 27th May at UHBVN Headquarters, Sector-14, Panchkula.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Electricity Corporation said that as per Regulation 2.8.2, the Zonal Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum will hear complaints related to financial disputes involving an amount exceeding Rs 1 lakh and up to Rs 3 lakh in each case. The grievances of consumers of the districts falling under Panchkula zone, namely Kurukshetra, Ambala, Panchkula, Kaithal and Yamunanagar, will be resolved at the Zonal Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, Panchkula on 20th and 27th May, 2024.

He said that the wrong bills of the consumers of the districts falling under Panchkula zone, matters related to electricity rates, matters related to meter security, matters related to damaged meters and matters related to voltage will be settled. During this period, cases like electricity theft, misuse of electricity etc. will not be considered. Claim for each month calculated on the basis of average electricity charges paid by the consumer during the last six months before the complaint relating to financial disputes is submitted to the Forum for settlement of any dispute between the consumer and the Corporation. The consumer will have to deposit the amount equal to the amount charged or the electricity charges payable by him, whichever is less.
