The people of Delhi had started the process of making one party win all the seats from the year 1957. For the last three elections, the people of Delhi have been voting in favor of only one party. This has never happened before. Only twice before this had a single party won all the seats in two consecutive elections. On the other hand, Congress, which had won all the seats in 2009, had to face defeat on all the seven seats after five years in 2014. A similar incident had happened with Congress in the year 1977 also. It had won all the seats in 1971, but lost all the seats in 1977.
