Shimla, Mar 12: The Federation of Patwaris and Kanungos has called off its two-week strike following a meeting with Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi in Shimla.
The protest, which involved over 4,000 revenue officials, stemmed from opposition to the government’s decision to shift them from district to state cadre, causing disruptions in public services.
Federation president Satish Chaudhary said officials were assured that the cadre shift would not affect their recruitment, promotions, or other interests. “We have been given detailed information about the move. Since our doubts and apprehensions have been addressed, we are calling off the strike,” he stated.
He confirmed that all patwaris and kanungos would return to work starting tomorrow.
