Mohali, March 10 — Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the Indian School of Business (ISB) Mohali on March 11, authorities have declared a no-fly zone around the area.
Komal Mittal, District Magistrate of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, has banned drone flights within a 5 km radius of ISB Mohali and the International Airport, citing security concerns. The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, prohibits all flying objects except those cleared by aviation or defense authorities.
“These orders will be in effect on March 11, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, will ensure compliance,” Mittal stated.
President Murmu will be visiting Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab from March 10 to 12, attending multiple official events.
