Madhuban, March 7 — Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya inaugurated the 73rd All India Police Volleyball Cluster tournament at Vachher Stadium in Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, on Friday. The competition includes volleyball and sepak takraw events for both men and women.

The tournament has drawn 1,088 participants, with 791 men, 297 women, and 65 technical officials. A total of 49 men’s teams and 28 women’s teams are competing for top honors.

“Haryana has always led in sports, and our police personnel have played a key role in this achievement. Many officers have brought glory to the state and the nation at the highest levels. Events like these strengthen the sporting spirit and boost Haryana’s reputation,” Governor Dattatraya said.

Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur acknowledged the growing challenges in law enforcement and praised officers for excelling in both their duties and athletics. “Despite the demanding nature of policing, our personnel continue to shine in sports. Several have represented India and made us proud,” he stated.

The tournament promotes fitness and teamwork among police personnel while celebrating Haryana’s strong sporting culture.
