Mohali, March 21 2025 — Mohali residents can expect smoother rides soon as the Municipal Corporation (MC) plans to resume road resurfacing in April, when the weather is ideal for the process.
During its Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting, the MC approved ₹80 crore for various development works, including road repairs, parks, sewage systems, and streetlights in Sectors 76 to 80.
A senior MC official said resurfacing will begin within 10 days with an initial budget of ₹5 crore. “GMADA will also provide ₹10 crore for the maintenance of three major roads—YPS Chowk Road, the road near Sohana Gurdwara, and the stretch near Bestech Square Mall. Tenders have already been floated,” the official said.
The meeting, chaired by Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Amreek Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh Sandhu, councillors Jasbir Singh Manku and Anuradha Anand, along with superintending engineers, executive engineers (XENs), and SDOs.
