Medalist Manu Bhaker interaction with PM Modi is getting viral

Bhaker, was shown introducing her pistol, which had earned her two medals, to the Prime Minister.

15 August, New Delhi: Manu Bhaker made history in the Paris Olympics 2024, becoming the first Indian to win two medals in a single Games edition since India’s independence. First, she won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, becoming India’s first female shooter to win at the Olympics. Then, she won bronze in the mixed 10m air pistol team event alongside Sarabjot Singh.

India won six medals in Paris 2024, with Swapnil Kusale additionally taking home a shooting bronze. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra settled for silver in the men’s javelin throw, while the men’s hockey team overcame Spain to take bronze. Aman Sehrawat also returned with a wrestling bronze medal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the Indian delegation at his New Delhi residence on Thursday. The attention was on Bhaker, who was shown introducing her pistol, which had earned her two medals, to the Prime Minister.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “It was a pleasure to connect with the Indian contingent that represented our country at the Paris Olympics. Heard about their game-day experiences and praised their athletic achievements.”

“Every player that traveled to Paris is a champion. “The Government of India will continue to support sports and build high-quality sporting infrastructure,” he added.

The Indian men’s hockey team was also present, and players gave the Prime Minister an autographed stick. They were also spotted posting with PM Modi, wearing their medals around their necks.

Even Sehrawat was spotted posing with the Prime Minister. Neeraj was not present since he had gone for Germany after Paris 2024 to consult a doctor about the groin issue and has plans to compete in the Diamond League Meets in Europe.

PM Modi also met and spoke with star shuttler Lakshya Sen, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, and weightlifter Mira Bai Chanu.
