Jaipur, December 29, 2024: A potential disaster was averted in Jaipur on Saturday after a chemical tanker carrying methanol overturned near the Sat Mata temple in the Chandbaji police station area. Quick action from the district administration and Civil Defence volunteers ensured that the situation was managed safely.
Civil Defence Deputy Controller Amit Kumar Sharma stated that upon receiving the alert, a team was deployed to the site. With police support, traffic was halted on both sides of the highway. The fire brigade used foam to secure and straighten the tanker before relocating it to a safe area.
Since methanol is a highly flammable substance, immediate action was critical to prevent harm. By 5:30 pm, the highway was reopened after the tanker was safely cleared and all necessary precautions were taken.
