New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Aam Aadmi Party harshly on Friday, before of the 2025 Delhi assembly elections, claiming that the national capital has been encircled by a “disaster” for the past ten years.

In a veiled jibe at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, the prime minister said that by keeping Anna Hazare at the front, “few ‘kattar beimaan’ (bigoted dishonest) people have pushed the national capital towards the ‘aapda‘ (disaster)”.
“These people used to talk about Delhi’s development…Ye AAP, ye ‘aapda’, Delhi par aayi hai’, and hence the people of Delhi has waged a war against ‘aapda’. Voters of Delhi have made up their minds to free Delhi from this ‘aapda’,” the PM said while speaking at an event at Ashok Vihar’s Ramlila Ground.
He criticized the Atishi-led Delhi government harshly, claiming that it first engages in corruption before glorifying it. “First the theft and then the arrogance…” he stated.
PM Modi highlighted how, despite never constructing a home for himself, he gave homes and realized the dreams of four crore people.
“The nation is well aware that Modi has constructed over 4 crore homes for the underprivileged but has never constructed a home for himself, Mai bhi koi sheeshmahal bana sakta tha”.
He instructed those in attendance to convey to the slum dwellers, “to ensure to tell them on my behalf that they will definitely get pucca houses, if not today, then tomorrow”.
He criticized the AAP’s “shamelessness” on Yamuna’s current condition. “What kind of aapda is this, they say that cleaning Yamuna won’t get them votes – will you leave Yamuna like this if it doesn’t get you votes?” The PM questioned.
He added that the “tanker mafia” has taken control of the life of Delhi citizens as a result of this “disaster.”
According to the prime minister, his government has made “in-principle agreement” with the numerous recommendations made by Delhi lawmakers regarding the initiatives that will assist improve the traffic issue in the capital.
“The year 2025 will give a new direction to the good governance in the national capital…New politics of public welfare and nation welfare will begin this year and hence ‘Aapda ko hatana, aur BJP ko lana hai”.
Viksit Bharat Goal
PM Modi emphasized the value of cities and their growth, claiming that they are crucial to achieving the objectives of a Viksit Bharat.
“Our cities are crucial to the development of India. Individuals from distant locations come here with dreams, and they sincerely dedicate their lives toward realizing those dreams. As a result, the BJP government at the national level is working to improve the standard of living for all urban families,” he continued.
He reaffirmed that India will become one of the world’s largest industrial hubs in 2025, solidifying its place in the global economy.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the 1,675 newly constructed flats for the slum dwellers of the JJ clusters and also handed over house keys to beneficiaries eligible at Ashok Vihar’s Swabhiman Apartments.
