Ludhiana, 3 January 2025 – Train operations are facing disruptions due to repair work at Ladowal, near Ludhiana, which will continue until January 9. As a result, 54 trains, including key routes like Pathankot-Delhi (22430-22429), Shan-e-Punjab (12497-12498), and Amritsar-Jaynagar (04652-04651), are canceled.
The Swaran Shatabdi (12029-12030) and Amritsar Shatabdi (12031-12032) will not reach Jalandhar and instead return from Ludhiana, leaving passengers with alternative travel options.
Operations for Darbhanga-Jalandhar (22551-22552) and some other trains, such as those traveling from Agra to Hoshiarpur, will also face disruption on January 5. Additionally, more than 37 trains are expected to run late, and several will follow diverted routes.
Senior officials from the railways urged travelers to stay informed about their train status before departure to minimize inconvenience. They emphasized that the ongoing repair work is for long-term passenger benefit.
Several trains arriving on January 1 and 2 experienced significant delays. The 12715 Sachkhand Express, initially scheduled for 8:15 am on January 1, arrived a full 12 hours late, reaching Amritsar at 9:45 am on January 2.
Similarly, the Amritsar-bound Chhattisgarh Express (18237) faced a delay of 3.5 hours, while Vaishno Devi Express (12919) arrived at 1:30 pm, three hours later than scheduled. Additional delays were also reported for trains arriving from Jammu and Delhi.
