21 January 2025- After receiving an invitation from the central government for talks, the march to Delhi on January 21 has been cancelled, but the tractor march on January 26 will be held as per schedule. Tractors will be parked in front of the houses and offices of BJP MLAs and ministers. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher made this announcement on Monday. He said that the tractor march will be held from 12 noon to 1.30 pm. Protests will also be shown by parking tractors in front of shopping malls and godowns of big corporate houses.
Apart from this, citing the health of Jagjit Singh Dallewal, he has demanded from the central government that the meeting to be held on February 14 should be called early. Also, it should be held in Delhi instead of Chandigarh because these demands are of farmers from all over the country. Pandher said that Dallewal’s treatment has started. He is a big leader of this movement and there is a dire need for him to become strong to get the demands fulfilled. Therefore, he appeals to Dallewal to take a good nutritious diet under the advice of Dr. Swayamman Singh Khaira and get well soon.
Efforts continue to unite farmers
Speaking on unity with Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), he said that continuous efforts are on, his organization is committed to maximum unity according to the voice of the people. It is expected that a decision on complete unity will be taken in the national meeting of SKM on January 24. It is worth noting that on January 18, a meeting was held between SKM non-political and SKM in Pattran. The meeting lasted for about one and a half hours, despite this, there was no consensus among the farmer leaders regarding mutual unity.
Khaps of Haryana will also participate in the tractor march on 26 January
In the meeting of the elected committee of various Khaps of Haryana, it was decided that to unite the movement, they will participate in the tractor march on 26 January. Khaps announced that if the demands of the farmers are not met, there will be a big movement across the country after 14 February. The central government should fulfill the proposed demands of the farmers in time.
Talking to the media after the meeting of Khaps in Jat Dharamshala on Monday, Ramfal Rathi, the chief representative of Meham Chaubisi Khap, said that the national meeting of SKM is being held on 24 January. SKM leaders should jointly decide the program of the movement for the welfare of the farmers, so that the proposed demands of the farmers are met.
Khap Committee Coordinator said that the Haryana government should work to cancel the new agricultural policy draft on the lines of the Punjab government. After the government’s proposal for talks, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dalewal, who was on a hunger strike at Khanauri border, has agreed to take medical services respecting the Supreme Court.
The government had assured to withdraw the cases registered against the farmers during the agitation in Khedi Chopta. Notices are still being sent to the farmers in these cases. The government should cancel these cases with immediate effect.
