31 July, Haryana: Approximately forty children from a private school were on the bus at the time of the incident. The kids were shocked by the violence when furious Kanwariyas surrounded the bus, even though it is believed that the children were permitted to get off before it was attacked.
Based on available details, the event happened in the Ratia town of Fatehabad district when the bus attempted to pass the kanwariyas’ vehicle, which was traveling from Haridwar to Sirsa as part of the Kanwar Yatra. The kanwariyas alleged that a pitcher of holy water being carried by one of the pilgrims was damaged.
The driver of the bus was allegedly hauled out and thrashed by the kanwariyas, sparking a furious argument. The kids were moved to another bus from the same school that had arrived in the interim. After that, the kanwariyas went on the rampage and broke the bus’s windowpanes.
Soon after, a handful of the bus driver’s associates showed up and blocked the road in protest. Once at the scene, a police squad under the command of DSP Sanjay Bishnoi attempted to calm down the demonstrators.
