KHAGARIA, April 10 – Janata Dal (United) district general secretary Kaushal Singh was shot dead Wednesday evening near a warehouse in Chautham police station area, Khagaria district. Singh was the nephew of JDU MLA Pannalal Singh Patel from Beldaur.
Police suspect a family dispute led to the killing.
Singh’s wife, who was with him at the time, told police that the couple was riding to the warehouse on a motorcycle when a relative opened fire on them near National Highway 107.
“My husband’s nephew suddenly appeared and started shooting,” she said.
Following the attack, Singh was rushed to Nectar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment. Superintendent of Police Amrit Raj reached the hospital soon after and began an investigation.
No arrests were reported at the time of filing this report.
