India has decided to provide most financial help to Bhutan and least to Maldives.

Quickly check out how India’s neighboring countries got a share in the Union budget 2024 presented by FM Nirmala Sitharaman. 

 

Bhutan got the highest share of Rs 2, 068 cr. 

 

India deducted the help to Maldives by 48%. Previous year Maldives’s share was as high as 770 crore which has now come to mere 400 cr.
Relations between India & Maldives started deteriorating after Mohamed Muizzu, having pro – China stance, became president of Maldives in November 2023. 

 

Nepal got a significant share in the Union budget (2024-25) standing at Rs 700 cr. 
For Sri Lanka it was decided 245 crores, a significant rise from previous year 60 cr.  
Iran’s share was steady at 100cr.  
For Afghanistan – 200 crore, For Bangladesh – 120 crore and For Myanmar – 250 cr. 
Other than this Mauritius was allocated 370 crore, and African countries were allocated 200cr.
