Hyderabad, 24 January 2025- Since no body part has been found by the police, the murder inquiry into the death of a 35-year-old Hyderabad lady whose husband is accused of killing her and boiling her body parts to dispose of in different places has come to a standstill.
The Indian Express stated that although the police were verifying technological and scientific data, they had not yet located the deceased’s body parts.
“We cannot go by mere claims. We are collecting all technical and scientific pieces of evidence. The case is under investigation,” Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu told the publication.
The victim’s husband Gurumurthy, a retired Army jawan from Andhra Pradesh, claimed that he killed his wife, dismembered her body, boiled the parts and disposed of them in a lake at Jillelaguda on the city’s outskirts.

Since Gurumurthy’s confession, the Hyderabad Police have verified his statements using forensic and scientific evidence to determine the precise condition of his wife, P Venkata Madhavi.
As of Thursday night, no arrest has been made in connection with the confession. Police did, however, apprehend the suspect.
The suspect, who is currently employed as a security guard, told the police that he killed the victim in a fit of rage and that he did everything he could to evade capture.
“As of now, we don’t have any reasons to believe it was a premeditated crime. It seems like the result of a petty quarrel. We are questioning the suspect and we have not recovered any body parts. We do not have enough clues,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch Praveen Kumar told indianexpress.com in the evening.
Meanwhile, the police have recovered a pressure cooker, water heater, and knives.
A quarrel led to brutal murder
Gurumurthy admitted to hitting Madhavi against a wall following a furious quarrel, which resulted in her instant death.
After that, he used kitchen knives to cut off her body, first boiling the parts to eliminate any evidence of the murder. According to the accused, he crushed the bones using a mortar and pestle and boiled her body parts in a pressure cooker for five to six hours.
According to the journal, which cited anonymous sources, the flesh and powdered bones were subsequently dumped into other locations, such as the neighboring lake.
When her mother Subamma complained to the police on January 18, Puttavenkata Madhavi was declared missing.
News agency ANI quoted Meerpet inspector Nagaraju as stating that Madhavi had left her home on January 16 following a disagreement with Gurumurthy.
