Shimla, March 18— Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu assured the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday that strict action will be taken against those involved in criminal activities, including the recent attack on former Congress legislator Bamber Thakur on March 14.

Responding to concerns raised by Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Sukhu said the case is under investigation, with two of the four shooters already arrested.

“A special investigation team (SIT) was formed on March 15, and three persons involved in the crime have been arrested and are on remand,” he informed the House.

Sukhu added that police teams are searching for the remaining attackers, who are from Haryana.

Jai Ram Thakur, while cautioning against politicising the issue, noted that the incident has created fear among the public. He also criticised Bamber Thakur for making public statements while the investigation is ongoing. “The manner in which he is naming people before the media is wrong when the probe is still underway,” he said.
