Chandigarh, March 8 — The Haryana government has ramped up efforts to curb illegal mining while advancing infrastructure development and enforcing government laws. The Mining Department has been directed to ensure strict compliance with regulations, with officials actively monitoring mineral extraction and transportation.
Director General of Mining K.M. Pandurang stated that authorities have been instructed to conduct regular inspections, emphasizing the government’s commitment to stopping unlawful mining activities. “We are closely tracking illegal operations and taking immediate action against violators under the e-shipping bill system,” he said.
District Mining Officer Kamlesh Bidhlan confirmed that enforcement measures have been tightened since January under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh. “We are inspecting mining vehicles on national and state highways, including those exiting the Yamuna River area,” she said, adding that her team is maintaining round-the-clock vigilance.
The government has urged the public to report any illegal mining activities or unauthorized vehicle movement. Citizens can contact the department’s toll-free number, 1800-180-5530, to provide information.
