Ratan Tata dies at 86, he took his last breath in Mumbai
President Droupadi Murmu posted, “In the sad demise of Shri Ratan Tata, India has lost an icon who blended corporate growth with nation building, and excellence with ethics. A recipient of Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, he took forward the great Tata legacy and gave it a more impressive global presence. He inspired seasoned professionals and young students alike. His contribution to philanthropy and charity is invaluable. I convey my condolences to his family, the entire team of the Tata Group and his admirers across the globe.”
Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari said, “I am shocked to hear the news of the demise of the great son of the country, Ratan Tata ji. I have had a very close family relationship with Ratan Tata ji for more than three decades. I have seen and experienced very closely the simplicity of such a great person, his spontaneity, respect for even those younger than him. I got to learn a lot from him in my life. Being the biggest businessman of the country, he has contributed a lot in strengthening the country’s economy and creating employment. Apart from being a great patriot, he was also a man of principles. He was a more sensitive social worker than he was a great businessman. With his demise, India has lost an ideal and capable son. This country can never forget Ratan Tata ji. May God grant peace to the departed soul. Om Shanti.”
