Barnala, March 15– A powerful explosion ripped through a three-storey house in Barnala’s Pakhokalan village, causing the structure’s roofs to collapse and leaving a husband and wife injured. The blast was followed by a fire, further damaging the house.
The injured, identified as homeowner Harmel Singh and his wife, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the explosion. However, sources mentioned that a gas cylinder leak or an inverter malfunction could be responsible.
The impact of the blast was severe, destroying household items and causing damage estimated at ₹8 lakh. The incident has left villagers in fear.
Harmel Singh, who works as an electrician, lost his home and belongings in the accident.
Family members and representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Sidhupur have urged the Punjab government to provide assistance to the affected family.
