Elections 2024: Voting continues on 93 seats in 12 states under the third phase

07 May 2024 -Under the third phase of Lok Sabha elections-2024 in the country, voting is being held on 93 seats in 12 states today i.e. on Tuesday (May 7). According to the Election Commission’s schedule, voting was to be held on 94 seats in the third phase, but BJP has won the Surat Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat unopposed. In such a situation, voting is taking place on 93 seats. A total of 1331 candidates are in the fray.

The seats where elections are being held in this phase include 25 in Gujarat, 14 in Karnataka, 11 in Maharashtra, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, nine in Madhya Pradesh, seven in Chhattisgarh, five in Bihar, four in Assam and two in Goa. Elections are included. Prominent candidates from Gujarat include Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Gandhinagar seat, Mansukh Mandaviya from Porbandar seat and Parshottam Rupala from Rajkot seat.

Voting is taking place in Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Amla and Bareilly parliamentary seats of Uttar Pradesh. 100 candidates are in the fray in this phase in Uttar Pradesh, while 1.88 crore voters will be able to vote.

PM Modi requested people to exercise their franchise. He said, “Today is the third phase of voting. I would especially urge the countrymen that voting in a democracy is not a simple charity. There is a great importance of charity in our country. In the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible. Today in the third phase Voting will continue for three more weeks. This is the only place where I vote as a BJP candidate. “
