Mumbai, 23 January 2025- Shiv Sena (UBT) on Thursday demanded Bharat Ratna for Shiv Sena founder and late Bal Thackeray. This statement was made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on the 99th birth anniversary of Bal Thackeray. Raut said that in the last ten years, the BJP government has given Bharat Ratna to some people who did not deserve it. He also said that Bal Thackeray, who spread the ideas of Hindutva, should get Bharat Ratna.
Speaking on the occasion of Bal Thackeray’s birth anniversary, Sanjay Raut said that Bal Thackeray should be honored with this award because he sowed the seeds of Hindutva in this country. He said that Thackeray’s birth centenary is a year away and he should get Bharat Ratna before this centenary. Apart from this, he also said that if Bal Thackeray gets Bharat Ratna, it will also honor Veer Savarkar.
This demand of Sanjay Raut was supported by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant. He said that Thackeray showed the country the real ideals of Hindutva. He said that the central government, which calls itself a supporter of Hindutva, should give this honour.
Sanjay Raut took a dig at the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He also compared Eknath Shinde’s party to Chinese firecrackers, which do not explode but just emit sparks. He said that the real Shiv Sena is in Matoshree. Let us tell you that Matoshree is the house of the Thackeray family in Bandra and Uddhav Thackeray lives there with his family.
