Army Chief General Pandey reviewed the security in East Ladakh

11 May 2024, Delhi– Army Chief General Pandey reviewed the security in East Ladakh & congratulated the soldiers for their surrender. A military standoff between Indian and Chinese troops has been going on for four years in this area. The army chief was briefed in detail about the war preparations by the officers at the headquarters of Fire and Fury Corps in Leh.

Army Chief General Manoj Pandey on Friday took stock of the security situation along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. There has been a military standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in this area for four years. The Army Chief was given detailed information about the war preparations by the officers at the headquarters of the Fire and Fury Corps in Leh.

The Army said on social media that the Army Chief congratulated the officers and soldiers for their professionalism, unwavering commitment and dedication to duty. The standoff between the Indian and Chinese armies has been going on since May 2020.

There has been no complete resolution of the border dispute between the two sides yet, although both sides have retreated from several disputed points. India has consistently maintained that peace on the LAC is important for normalizing relations between the two countries.

In January, General Pandey had described the situation along the LAC in eastern Ladakh as stable but sensitive. He had said that Indian soldiers are ready to deal effectively with any situation.
