Chandigarh, 25 December 2024: An unidentified vehicle collided with an ambulance transporting the bodies of three suspected Khalistan Zindabad Force members killed in a recent police encounter. The incident occurred late Tuesday on the Rampur bypass in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar Mishra confirmed the collision caused damage to the ambulance, but no injuries were reported. “The bodies were immediately shifted to another ambulance to ensure the journey to Punjab continued without delay,” Mishra stated.
Rampur police arrived at the scene shortly after being alerted. “We acted promptly to transfer the bodies from the damaged ambulance to another vehicle,” Mishra added.
The deceased were reportedly involved in a grenade attack on a Gurdaspur police post and were killed on Monday during an encounter in Puranpur, Pilibhit. The operation was conducted jointly by the police forces of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
