by TheReportingTimes

AMBALA, DEC 28 – Grief engulfed Ambala as the body of Harshandeep Singh, a 22-year-old student who was shot dead in Canada, reached his hometown for final rites. His elder sister, Prabhjot Kaur, performed the cremation rituals on Friday morning as a large crowd of mourners, including villagers and dignitaries, paid their respects.

Harshandeep had moved to Edmonton, Canada, in August 2023 on a study visa to pursue business administration at NorQuest College. He had taken up a part-time security job and was on duty on December 6 when he was fatally shot at an apartment complex by a man accompanied by a woman. Canadian authorities have arrested the suspects and launched an investigation.

Harshandeep’s father, Kulwinder Singh, a farmer, and other family members are shattered by the sudden loss. Relatives said the young man had left for Canada with dreams of a bright future, only to have his life cut tragically short. The incident has left the local community in shock and mourning.
