Lucknow, August 28: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized BJP MP Kangana Ranaut for her comments regarding farmers’ protests, he said that they were “deliberate” and would be used as a “shield” to prevent the party’s upper leadership from being held accountable for the party’s impending loss in the Haryana Assembly elections.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav trolled BJP over remarks made by Kangana Ranaut
“This is the BJP’s script, which is being read out by an actress as dialogue on the instructions of a top director. What is the difference between the BJP’s Chanakya and an ordinary politician who understands that criticizing the farmers’ movement in a farmers’ state will damage their chances? Mr. Yadav stated in a Hindi post on X.
“The actual reality of this incident is that the actress must have made this statement on purpose so that the statement of the actress can be cited as the reason for the defeat that has already been decided in Haryana and the top leadership is not blamed for it. This is a ‘word-shield’ to protect someone, not a declaration, he continued.
Member of Parliament from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, Ms. Ranaut, shared a clip of her interview with the Hindi daily “Dainik Bhaskar” on X. In it, she hinted that if India’s leadership hadn’t been strong, a “Bangladesh-like situation” might have broken out during farmers’ protests against three controversial farm laws that have since been repealed. Then she claimed that amid the protests, rapes were occurring.
The opposition has directed its criticism against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana ahead of the state’s elections on October 1.
Ranaut’s derogatory comments against the farmers’ agitation drew criticism from the BJP on Monday. The party stated that it disagreed with Ranaut’s viewpoints and made it apparent that she is not authorized to discuss party policy.
For several months, thousands of farmers from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and other regions had staged a demonstration at Delhi’s borders against the farm regulations that have since been overturned.
