ACB J&K Adopts Fully Electronic Challan System

Srinagar, January 2, 2025: In a move aimed at boosting transparency and efficiency, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir has transitioned to a fully electronic challan system.

Starting January 1, 2025, ACB branches will replace manual FIR registrations with electronic submissions through the Crime & Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS), according to a statement released to Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

This upgrade is intended to streamline challan filing, enhance record-keeping, and accelerate case handling. Investigating Officers (IOs) are now required to submit specified forms through CCTNS for each case.

To support the initiative, CCTNS labs have been set up at all eight ACB police stations in the region, and 18 officials have been trained to operate the system effectively. Supervisory officers must ensure all details are accurately entered in CCTNS before approving any challan.

The ACB J&K views the transition as a critical step in leveraging technology to strengthen its efforts in combating corruption, the statement further noted.
