New Delhi, 24 January 2025- During the hearing of the defamation case filed by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s wife Sulakshana Sawant against AAP MP Sanjay Singh, his lawyer said that he will no longer speak against the Chief Minister’s wife. This time, due to his busy schedule in the Delhi elections, the court has adjourned the hearing of the case to February 7.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh on Friday told a Goa court that he will not make any statement against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in connection with the defamation case filed against the Rajya Sabha MP by Sulakshana Sawant. Sulakshana Sawant’s lawyer Prahlad Paranjape said in the case, when the matter came up for hearing in the Bicholim court, the respondent sought time to file a reply to the injunction filed by the petitioner.
Sanjay Singh’s lawyer Surel Tilve said that his client could not file a reply due to being busy in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He said that the reply will be filed during the next hearing. Lawyer Prahlad Paranjape told that the court has adjourned the hearing of the case till February 7. Lawyer Paranjape said- Elections are going on in Delhi and Sanjay Singh is busy as he is one of the star campaigners of the party. The court has given us time.
What is the whole matter?
AAP leader Sanjay Singh had organized a press conference in Delhi, in which he accused Sulakshana Sawant of being involved in the ‘scam’ of providing jobs for cash in Goa, after which Sulakshana Sawant filed a defamation suit of Rs 100 crore against the AAP leader in December. At the same time, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant rejected Sanjay Singh’s allegations and said that his family has nothing to do with the ‘cash for job’ case.
