IPL 2025: The Mumbai Indians vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2025 match will honor those lost in the Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir terrorist assault by having players and officials wear black bands on the pitch. Two foreign nationals are among the 26 victims who lost their lives in this Tuesday incident. The incident has severely grieved the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and on Wednesday, during the Hyderabad vs. Mumbai match, a tribute will be given to the victims.
Before the contest begins, there will be a period of silence
A minute’s silence will be observed prior to the start of the game, and both teams’ players and referees will wear black bands throughout the game. In addition, there won’t be any cheerleaders on the pitch during this game. Sportspeople have expressed their sorrow over the terrorist assault in Pahalgam and their condolences to the relatives of the victims. Numerous former athletes have honored the victims on social media following this horrific assault. According to reports, both teams’ players will wear black bands while playing and will observe a minute of silence in remembrance of the those who died in the Pahalgam, Kashmir, terrorist incident.There will be no cheerleaders during the match between Mumbai Indians and Hyderabad. No firecrackers will be burst.
Tourists make up the majority of the dead
The terrorist attack on Tuesday afternoon at a tourist destination called ‘Mini Switzerland’ in Pahalgam town in Jammu and Kashmir killed 26 persons, the majority of them were tourists. Following the Pulwama tragedy in 2019, this is the valley’s bloodiest attack to date. Approximately six kilometers from Pahalgam town, Baisaran is a large grassland encircled by mountains and deep pine forests. It is a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists. According to officials and witnesses, armed terrorists broke into the “Mini Switzerland” and began shooting at visitors who were picnicking, riding mules, and wandering around restaurants in the Pahalgam incident.The Resistance Front (TRF), a front organisation of the banned terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) based in Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
