Fresh Snowfall, Rain Likely in Himachal’s Higher Hills from April 16

Shimla, April 13: The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness light snowfall and rainfall from April 16, as a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region, the state’s Meteorological Department said.

Light precipitation is forecast for the higher hills on April 16 and 17, while the middle and lower hills will remain dry. Widespread light to moderate rain is expected across the state on April 18.

Meanwhile, several parts of the state recorded light to moderate rainfall over the past 24 hours, though temperatures remained largely unchanged. Una remained the hottest spot at 36.4°C, while Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest at 0.1°C.

Maximum temperatures in other towns included Shimla (16.6°C), Dharamsala (25.1°C), Solan (20.2°C), Bilaspur and Hamirpur (30.5°C), and Kalpa (8.7°C).
