Kapurthala, April 11: Pritam Singh Peeti, 43, a resident of Hambowal village near Machhiwara, died in a road accident in Nashville, United States, where he had moved in pursuit of a better life.
Peeti, who previously worked as a carpenter in his native village, had shifted to America a few years ago. According to information received by the family, the accident occurred late at night when his car collided with a trailer, resulting in his death on the spot.
The news of his demise reached his home on Friday morning, leaving his family and the entire village in deep mourning.
Peeti is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. One of his sons currently lives with him in the US, while his wife and mother remain in Hambowal. His father and brother had passed away earlier.
A pall of grief has descended over Hambowal as villagers gathered at the family’s home to offer condolences and support.
