Madhya Pradesh, March 16 — A 64-year-old man was killed in Madhya Pradesh’s Maihar district after objecting to loud music during Holi celebrations amid ongoing school exams, police said Saturday.

The incident occurred Friday night in Mankisar village under Ramnagar police station limits.

According to officials, Deepu Kewat was playing loud music when his neighbor, Shankar Kewat, requested him to lower the volume as his children were studying.

“Deepu and five of his relatives attacked Shankar and his family, including his father, Munna Kewat,” a police officer said.

“During the assault, Munna collapsed and was declared dead at a nearby hospital.”

Police have registered a murder case against the accused and are working to apprehend them.
