New Delhi, 13 January 2025- After the poor performance of the Indian team in the Australia series, reports came out that all is not well between captain Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir. In this regard, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla gave a statement. He said that this is a completely wrong narrative. There are no differences between Gambhir and Rohit, nor are there any between Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar.

BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has rejected those media reports, which claimed differences between chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma, which arose after India’s 1-3 defeat against Australia. In this regard, on the occasion of the inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup in New Delhi, Shukla termed these reports as false.

Rohit had scored only 31 runs in 3 matches of the Australia series. During this series, the news came out that Gambhir had warned the senior players to either perform well or be ready to be out.

In this episode, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla said that this is a completely wrong statement. He mentioned that there are ups and downs in the form of the player, these are the phases of life. When Rohit felt that he was not in form, he had decided to opt out of the Sydney Test.

Rajiv further said that there are no differences between Ajit Agarkar and the coach, there is also no difference between the captain and the coach. This is all nonsense, which is being spread in a section of the media.

Apart from this, Shukla confirmed that the team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy will be selected on 18 or 19 January. Let us tell you that Team India’s next big tournament will be the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9. The tournament will be held in Pakistan and UAE under a hybrid model, in which all India’s matches will be played in the UAE.
