Jalandhar, January 4: Two young men were fatally shot this morning near Shailani Mata Mandir in Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, close to Lamma village. The victims, identified as Shiv of Mota Singh Nagar and Vinay Tiwari of Basti Sheikh, were attacked while they slept.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victims and their friends had gathered for drinks late into the night. An argument broke out in the morning, escalating into violence when Manna, a resident of Mithapur, opened fire on the sleeping youths. The accused fled immediately after the attack.
Rama Mandi police, along with a Forensic Science Laboratory team, reached the scene to collect evidence. Investigators suspect the incident may be linked to an old rivalry. It has also been revealed that both victims were wanted in a case registered at Police Station Division No. 6. Efforts are underway to locate the accused.
