by TheReportingTimes

Kanauri Border, 29 December 2024 – Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a prominent farmer leader, has entered the 34th day of his hunger strike, drawing growing alarm over his declining health as he persists on a water-only diet. The Supreme Court, actively involved in the matter, has voiced serious concerns about his deteriorating condition.

At a press briefing, fellow farmer leaders Abhimanyu Kohar, Lakhwinder Singh Aulakh, and Kaka Singh Kotra condemned the central government’s “unyielding stance” on the farmers’ demands, emphasizing the extreme measures Dallewal is taking to highlight their cause.

The leaders also criticized the Punjab government for its failure to effectively engage with the Centre on behalf of farmers, questioning the state’s commitment to their cause. Speculation is rising regarding possible court action to remove Dallewal from his protest location.

The farmer leaders called on the public to unite in safeguarding Dallewal’s well-being, stressing that “Our leader is putting his life at risk, and we must ensure his protection.” Security has been heightened around Dallewal as concerns continue to mount.
