Mumbai: MLA from Shiv Sena, Sanjay Gaikwad has sparked a controversy after offering a Rs 11 lakh prize to anyone who cuts Congressman Rahul Gandhi’s tongue for his comments about ending the reservation system.

The comments set off a political storm and prompted demands for action, so on Monday night police filed a complaint against the MLA from Buldhana.
“Rahul Gandhi stated that he intended to end India’s reservation system while he was overseas. Before revealing the strange prize, Gaikwad told reporters, “This has exposed the true face of the Congress.”
“Recently, Rahul Gandhi discussed eliminating reservations while in the US. It demonstrates the kind of thinking that is fundamentally anti-reservations. If someone cuts off Rahul Gandhi’s tongue, I’ll give him Rs 11 lakh.”
Gandhi’s remarks represent the greatest betrayal to the people. Gandhi is discussing eliminating the benefits of reservation while communities like Marathas, Dhangars, and OBCs fight for it, the MLA stated.
“When Rahul Gandhi would display the Constitution book, he would fabricate a story about how the BJP would change it. However, he stated, “The Congress intends to regress the nation by 400 years.”
Shiv Sena’s ally BJP reacted to the matter
Gaikwad’s words caused a stir, and the BJP, an ally of the Shiv Sena, distanced itself from the statement.
“I won’t back or support Gaikwad’s remarks. But we also have to remember that Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister, opposed reservations, claiming they would hinder progress, according to state BJP chief Chandrashekar Bawankule.
The BJP leader stated, “according to Rajiv Gandhi, giving reservations was equivalent to supporting stupid. Now Rahul Gandhi has stated that he would end reservations.”
Congress demanded action
On Monday, State Congress President Nana Patole urged legal action from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and asked him to clarify his position about Gaikwad’s remarks.
“Eknath Shinde needs to make clear his stands on Gaikwad’s comments. If legal action isn’t taken, Congress party employees would take strong action against Gaikwad, according to Patole.
